KEY INGREDIENTS

olive oil | ground beef bell pepper | onion | garlic tomato paste | brown sugar, honey or coconut sugar Worcestershire sauce yellow mustard | chili powder salt & pepper | hamburger buns red pepper flakes, optional

Heat oil in a skillet. Brown the beef, breaking it up with spatula until no longer pink. Transfer to a colander to drain.

 INSTRUCTIONS

Add chopped onion and bell pepper to the same skillet and cook 2-3 minutes, until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.

Add the remaining ingredients including, red pepper flakes if using. Add beef back to the skillet and stir well to combine.

Cook over medium heat for about 5 – 10 minutes, until mixture has thickened to your liking. Remove from heat and serve over buns.
