These delicious baked apple chips are a great healthy snack alternative. They take minutes to prep and are so wonderfully sweet. Made with just 3 ingredients they are vegan and gluten-free.
Preheat oven to 200°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
Sift powdered sweetener and cinnamon into a bowl.
Wash and thinly slice the apples using a mandoline to 1/16”. Remove seeds from the slices. Spread the apple slices onto the baking sheets in a single layer. Using a sifter or sieve, sprinkle each slice with the cinnamon and sweetener mixture on each side.
Bake for 1 hour, flip the apples over, and bake for another 1-1.5 hours. Turn the oven off and keep the apples inside as the oven cools down for 1 hour. This will help them get crunchy. Allow the apple chips to cool completely before storing. Store apple chips at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
NOTES
If you have a dehydrator, you can use that instead of the oven. It will take around 10 hours at a temperature of 135F.
Leave the skins on the apples as this will help them to keep their shape.
Be patient and let the apples sit in the oven for an hour after baking if you want to get really nice and crispy apple chips.
Slice the apples really thin. It's best if you use a mandoline to slice them.
