Refreshing and revitalising, this lemon ginger tea is made with just 3 natural ingredients for a healthy and warming drink that's perfect to enjoy during the cold weather.
Place the sliced ginger in a small sauce pan, and cover with 2.5 cups of water. Bring water to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes. Let the tea steep for at least 5 minutes (or up to 10 minutes).
Pour the liquid into 2 cups through a fine mesh strainer to catch the large ginger pieces, then serve warm with a squeeze of a half fresh lemon per each cup and honey, to taste.
NOTES
You can store extra ginger tea in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Serve it cold or reheated.
Use fresh ginger and lemon for the greatest health benefits and best flavor.
Allow at least 5 minutes for the tea to steep. This will allow the flavor to develop. For a strong ginger tea, steep it for up to 10 minutes.
