Add flavor easily and quickly to your meals with this tasty garlic and herb compound butter recipe. Simple to make with a few ingredients, keep it handy in the fridge to use with your favorite recipes.
In a medium bowl cream the butter with a fork until smooth.
Add minced garlic and herbs and stir until just mixed.
Tear off a 12-inch long piece of parchment paper and place garlic butter in the middle of it. Shape the butter into what resembles a long log.
Pull the parchment paper over the herb butter and begin to roll it, reinforcing the log shape as you go. Once completely rolled up, twist the ends until tight.
Refrigerate compound butter for at least 2 - 3 hours before serving. Serve with steak, chicken, shrimp, vegetables, or as a spread on bread. Enjoy!
NOTES
Make sure that your herbs are dry before mixing in with the butter.
Don't be tempted to use a food processor to chop the herbs as they'll get too mushy.
Have fun experimenting with other flavors! Black pepper and other fresh herbs like dill or oregano work great!
