When it comes to crowd pleasing appetizers, you can't go wrong with some classic buffalo chicken wings. Perfectly tangy with just the right amount of spice, these oven baked wings are finger licking good!
Preheat the oven to 400° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack over it.
In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with oil and season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
Bake until chicken is golden, and skin is crispy, 45 - 50 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through.
In a small saucepan, whisk together hot sauce, honey and butter. Bring to a simmer and cook until butter is melted and slightly reduced, about 2 minutes.
Transfer the wings to a large mixing bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over the wings. Toss to coat evenly.
Serve warm with blue cheese sauce or ranch dressing.
Notes
Use your hands to coat the wings in the oil and seasonings, this will make sure they are well coated and crisp evenly.
To make the chicken wings nice and crispy, you can also coat them in baking powder before baking them. This is an optional step but will get the wings extra crispy.
For best results, bake the wings on a wire rack. You can cook them directly on a baking sheet, but be sure to flip them halfway through.
Cook the buffalo chicken wings in a fully pre-heated oven so that they cook through evenly.
