Ditch the store bought and learn how to make peanut butter at home in a matter of minutes. Made without added salt and sugar, you just need one ingredient and a food processor or blender.
Add peanuts to a high-powered food processor or blender. Pulse the peanuts until they are finely chopped.
Process or blend on low speed for 1 minute continuously, then stop the machine and scrape down the sides. It will be dry and gritty. Continue processing several times and scraping down the sides until you have creamy and smooth peanut butter.
It will turn from gritty to clumpy paste to thick and grainy and finally to smooth and creamy.

Your food processor will need to run for around 10 minutes to make peanut butter. Allow the motor to cool while you scrape down the sides.
Be patient! Making peanut butter is a process, stick with it and you'll get one creamy nut butter!
Be sure to use roasted peanuts.
The peanut butter will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several weeks.
For chunky peanut butter add 1/3 cup of chopped peanuts to the peanut butter.
