In a teacup or mug, add freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Heat water, then carefully pour the warm water into the cup. Stir well to combine.
Add honey to taste and stir until fully dissolved.
Adjust by adding more lemon juice and honey if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh lemon juice rather than bottled. This will give you the best flavor. This is my favorite lemon squeezer (affiliate link).
Don't use boiling water. My late grandmother taught me that for the best flavor, you need warm water not boiling water. The ideal water temperature for this tea is around 110 - 140 F, warm enough to sip comfortably. Use a temperature-controlled kettle or heat on the cooktop, and take off the heat just when you see tiny bubbles forming.
I like to add a slice of lemon to my tea because as it steeps, it adds more of its delicious and refreshing citrus flavor.
