    Seasoned Salt Ingredients

You may be wondering what is seasoned salt. It’s simply salt mixed with some spices that you can season any kind of meat with. It’s a great substitute for store-bought Lawry’s seasoned salt.

    • Salt: I like to use kosher salt for this seasoning. It has caorser grains and is gentler than table salt. It enhances the flavor of the food without making them taste salty.
    • Pepper: Use fine ground pepper so that it combines easily with the other ingredients.
    • Other seasonings: Paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and turmeric.

Why make your own seasoning salt?

Are you wondering what is in seasoned salt you buy at the grocery store? I love making my own seasonings as you can control exactly what goes into them. You can easily add in other spices and herbs to suit your tastes, add a little cayenne for a spicier seasoning, or add in some dried oregano for a herby flavor. It also contains no shelf stabilizers and is a lot cheaper than buying a mix from a store.
