Could you make this earlier in the day and then reheat in microwave at dinner time?
Oven space is limited for Thanksgiving dinner.

My Nan used to do carrots like this, she grew her own, just washed them, cut em lengthways and put cooking fat on them, salt (no pepper) then covered them in honey
