    Club Sandwich Ingredients

    • Bread: You can use whatever bread you like for this recipe, though I prefer to use thinner slices so that the sandwich is easier to eat. Lightly toast the bread for a crispy texture.
    • Mayonnaise: I prefer to use a full fat mayo, but you can use low fat if you prefer.
    • Sandwich fillings: Turkey slices, tomato, cheddar cheese, ham slices, cooked bacon and lettuce leaves.

Can you make it ahead of time?

These classic club sandwiches are best enjoyed fairly soon after you’ve made them so that the bread stays nice and crisp. You can make them up a few hours ahead of time and keep them refrigerated, and you can cook up the bacon ahead so that everything is ready to go.

What else can you add to it?

This is a traditional club sandwich recipe, but you can easily mix up the fillings to suit your tastes. Rather than mayo, you could use garlic aioli, or add an additional condiment like mustard or fry sauce. Other salad ingredients like sliced cucumber work well and you can swap the turkey for chicken.
