TIPS FROM NELI’S KITCHEN

Recipe Notes and Tips for honey glazed salmon

  • Make sure not to overcook the honey sriracha salmon. Use a fork to test it for doneness, it should flake easily. When salmon is over-baked it can become quite dry in texture.
  • You can swap the honey for maple syrup if you prefer and white wine vinegar can be substituted for apple cider vinegar.
  • When making the glaze, you can first add less sriracha sauce, taste it and add more if you desire.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets.

Can you make it ahead of time?

Yes, if you meal prep the honey sriracha sauce the night before, you can make this recipe even quicker! Mix the honey glaze ingredients in a small bowl, cover it and place it in the fridge. All you need to do is brush the salmon with the glaze and pop it in the oven when you are ready and cook it. You can’t beat that! Super easy and quick weeknight dinner.

Can you use frozen salmon?

I prefer to use fresh fillets for this honey sriracha salmon, but frozen is often more convenient. Be sure to thaw your salmon completely and pat dry with a paper towel before brushing it with the glaze

When salmon is frozen, it takes on a lot of extra water which can make it quite mushy when it is cooked, so before you bake it make sure you remove as much excess moisture as you can.

Serving Suggestions

I love to serve this honey sriracha salmon with rice, salad, or roasted veggies for a super tasty and well-balanced meal. It works great with most vegetable side dishes, or even with a light salad. Try it with:

Question: Can I grill the marinated/rubbed salmon on a grill pan over a stove instead of baking. The wife loves salmon but hates baked fish.

    1. Delicious Meets Healthy says:

Yes, it should work. I would cook it over medium to medium high heat though because you don’t want the honey sriracha marinade to burn. Hope you enjoy it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just before serving, you can brush the salmon fillets with the other 1/3 of the marinade. Hope you enjoy it! ๐Ÿ™‚
