No Bake Chocolate Tarts

When it comes to chocolate there are so many choices to choose from. There are numerous brands to choose from. When i make desserts, I prefer to make my own chocolate filling and glaze. Just whip some cacao powder, honey and coconut oil (or grass-fed butter).

Cacao vs. Cocoa Powder

Did you know that cacao powder is different from cocoa powder? They may sound similar but there is a slight difference between the two. Cacao is the purest form of chocolate you can consume, which means it is raw and much less processed than cocoa powder or chocolate bars. Cacao is thought to be the highest source of antioxidants of all foods and the highest source of magnesium of all foods. It is an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, cholesterol-free saturated fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber, natural carbohydrates, and protein that make it an excellent source of nutrients. It has been used throughout many cultures for years for health purposes and even used as a high trade commodity.

Cocoa is the term used to refer to the heated form of cacao that you probably grew up buying at the store in the form of cocoa powder.

This may be a silly question, but I don’t see it notated anywhere. When you say tart pans, I assume you are referring to the mini tart tins? I wasn’t sure what size to use here.

Yes, i mean the mini tart tins. They are about 4″-5″ in diameter. Here is an affiliate link to them on amazon: https://amzn.to/2X3WyXZ
