Why you will love this garlic butter recipe!
- Easy to make: Just mix the ingredients together and it’s ready to use!
- Simple ingredients: You only need three main ingredients plus a little salt and pepper for seasoning.
- Make ahead: This garlic butter can be used straight away, but it also has a good shelf life and is also freezer- friendly.
Ingredients
To make garlic butter you will need the following simple ingredients:
- Butter: This recipe uses unsalted butter. You can use salted, just decrease the amount of added salt.
- Garlic cloves: Finely mince or grate the garlic for the strongest flavor and best texture. If not used straight away, the garlic flavor will become more pronounced. I don’t recommend substituting it with garlic powder.
- Parsley: Chopped parsley adds a nice freshness. You can use other fresh herbs like thyme or dill too.
- Salt and Pepper

Can you freeze this garlic herb butter?
Yes! This seasoned butter will keep well frozen for up to 6 months. If you plan on freezing it, it’s careful to wrap it well to protect it from freezer burn.

Do you still add salt if using salted butter or only if using unsalted butter?
I used unsalted butter and added salt but if you are using already salted butter I would omit the salt.
